All of the ladies were excited for the challenging day ahead.

SJ Ladies Win NL Netball!

13th July

After missing out last year, the SJ Ladies Netball Team came back determined to go all the way and take the title!

After losing the first game 9-4, the girls picked themselves up winning their remaining group games 3-1, 5-0 and 9-8 to make it through to the semi finals.

Having lost their star Centre - Fatma Ali - to injury in the group games, the rest of the ladies played superbly winning the semi final 5-3 and triumphing 5-4 in a tense final. Well done ladies!

SJ Team: Fatma Ali, Samina Merali, Salma Mirza, Zayn Khimani, Aneesa Merali, Masuma Fazel, Zahra Merali, Nayla Panjwani

Stanmore hosts Hyderi

28th April

On the evening of Sunday 28th April, Stanmore Jaffery’s hosted a friendly social netball session with their lovely neighbours Hyderi. Each jamaat brought in two teams, and they played each other over 2 hours. The games were exciting to watch, with talent shining on both sides!

The Stanmore and Hyderi girls mingled well, bonding over pizza, hot chocolate, fruit and other snacks! The night certainly promoted inter-jamaat friendships, and we pray to have many more opportunities like this, where netball brings our communities together, creating unity.

GIRLS

Girls Netball Camp

29-30 Oct 2019

On Tuesday 29th and Wednesday 30th Oct, we held our first  SJ Girls Netball Camp.

21 girls between years 5 and 9 enjoyed 6 hours of focussed training, fun drills and competitive games led by our coach Kay Bladon. The girls improved immensely over the course of the 2 days and it was a joy to watch them implement all the skills they had learnt.

Talking to the girls, they all commented on how much they enjoyed the camp and the opportunity to play with their friends while still training.
A special  mention to Zainab Fatima Merali, Ilhaam Pirbhai, Khadija Kanani and Aaminah Dewji for receiving best player awards over the 2 days.
Finally, we would like to take this opportunity to thank Neomedic for sponsoring this camp.
